Board Financial Educator and Youth Financial Literacy Advocate

 Keyona Glover Brooks serves as the Board Financial Educator for Kurrency Kidz Inc., where she provides strategic guidance in financial literacy education, student engagement, and program development to support the organization’s mission of equipping youth and families with the knowledge and skills necessary to build strong financial futures.

With more than a decade of professional experience across higher education, financial services, and nonprofit administration, Keyona brings a multidisciplinary perspective that strengthens Kurrency Kidz’ ability to deliver practical, real-world financial education to students and communities. Her professional background includes roles focused on student services, admissions operations, financial administration, and organizational leadership support—experiences that directly contribute to the development of effective youth education programs.

Keyona currently serves as a Student Services Specialist at Trinity Washington University, where she supports students, faculty, and institutional leadership by managing high-volume communications, coordinating student services operations, maintaining student information systems, and supporting enrollment and academic processes that promote student success. Her work ensures that students receive the guidance, resources, and administrative support needed to navigate their educational journeys successfully. 

In addition to her higher education experience, Keyona has served in executive administrative leadership roles within community and faith-based organizations, where she has overseen financial tracking, budgeting coordination, payroll administration, operational reporting, and executive leadership support. These responsibilities have strengthened her expertise in organizational governance, financial transparency, and operational systems—skills that directly support the sustainability and accountability of nonprofit organizations like Kurrency Kidz. 

Earlier in her career, Keyona worked in the financial sector with NASA Federal Credit Union, where she supported members with banking services, loan processing, and financial product education. This experience provided her with a strong foundation in personal finance and financial systems, reinforcing her passion for helping individuals and families develop greater financial awareness and confidence. 

As Board Financial Educator for Kurrency Kidz, Keyona plays an important role in strengthening the organization’s educational programming by contributing insights into financial education concepts, student learning needs, and community engagement strategies. She collaborates with organizational leadership to help guide the development of financial literacy curriculum, support youth-centered learning initiatives, and ensure programs reflect real-world financial knowledge that students can apply throughout their lives. Her work helps advance the organization’s vision of preparing young people to become financially informed decision-makers, responsible consumers, and future economic leaders.

Keyona is currently pursuing a Humanities Relations degree at Trinity Washington University, where she has earned Dean’s List recognition for academic achievement. Her continued academic advancement further strengthens her commitment to education, leadership, and community empowerment.

Through her dedication to student success, financial awareness, and community engagement, Keyona Glover Brooks contributes meaningful leadership to the Kurrency Kidz Board of Directors and helps support the organization’s mission to expand financial literacy opportunities for youth and families.
